Mark Kilroy Foundation ~ Helen Kilroy Recognized by State Rep. Greg Bonnen for her Years of Community Service

(Greg Bonnen's resolution (HR 1287) honoring Helen begins at 34:00 minutes into the video of the legislative session)
Representative Greg Bonnen (Texas State Rep, Dist. 24) recalls the murder of Mark Kilroy in 1989, and recognizes Helen Kilroy and family, whom in spite of their tragedy, created a foundation to help thousands of children and families in and around Santa Fe and Hitchcock Texas.
Helen is so deserving of this prestigious recognition from the Texas Legislature. She was a selfless person who was and is still an inspiration to many. For over 20 years, she and her husband Jim Kilroy and son, Keith Kilroy, have been instrumental in helping the communities of Santa Fe and Hitchcock, Texas by providing counseling, outreach and educational programs.

The Mark Kilroy Foundation continues to offer counseling services for children and youth in crisis and a free-of-charge S.A.F.E. Summer Program for children and youth. For videos of this program that has existed since 1995, please visit youtube site ~ "Mark Kilroy S.A.F.E. Summer Program" ~

Bonnen also recognizes Margaret Williams and Gail Bixler in this legislative session, whom have both worked with the Mark Kilroy Foundation for 20 years.

Thank you, Representative Greg Bonnen, for this wonderful proclamation of Helen's service.

S.A.F.E. Summer 2015:
On a good note, there WILL still be a S.A.F.E. Summer Program 2015 for children and youth of Santa Fe ISD and Hitchcock ISD. Look for enrollment forms at your child's school in May. NOTE: Grades 6-12 must go to the Jr. High or High School office to pick up their enrollment forms. 1-5th grade forms will be given to them by their homeroom teachers.

Getting ready for the S.A.F.E. Summer Program's 20th Anniversary!

Not every community has a FREE summer camp for children and youth, but we do. Thanks to the communities we work with, the Mark Kilroy Foundation, the City of Santa Fe, the Safe Coalition, Santa Fe I.S.D and Hitchcock I.S.D., we are fortunate to be able to invite a new group of children into our program on a weekly basis. It's on a first come, first served basis in an effort to give plenty of children the opportunity to join. We will have the flyers and information out by mid May, so stay tuned! In the meantime, here are more
